Executable Short Message
An executable short message is a message that is received by a Subscriber Identity Module card in a wireless system (such as a mobile phone system) that contains a program that instructs the SIM card to perform processing instructions. Executable Short Message Operation
This diagram shows how an executable short message can be sent by a system operator to add a new feature into a mobile phone. The executable short message is a program that is stored in the SIM card and interacts with the operation of the mobile phone to allow the new feature to operate. The system simply sends the file as an executable message directly to the mobile phone identification. When the complete executable short message has been received in the SIM card, it is stored in memory and this program can complete (run) instructions, allowing the new feature to operate. GSM Books
