Common Air Interface - CAI
The specifications for a radio communication system that standardize the communication between radio transmitter(s) and radio receiver(s) within that system. If the radio equipment is designed to meet the common air interface (CAI) specifications, theoretically equipment or software developed by one company should be capable of operating with other equipment or software designed by a different company.
